DATE: 10/30/2025SUBJECT: Customer Service ReviewGilbert Abramyan, California Star Construction came to us through a referral from our son, Vincent Stewart, who had worked for this company doing some paint work.After contacting Gilbert, he immediately contacted my wife, who explained her need for a garage roof repair. After a brief discussion, Gilbert immediately, set up an appointment with a family member to meet him at the property in Compton CA to provide an assessment of the work to be done.After, receiving the assessment of damage, Gilbert provided an estimate of the cost to repair the Roof. He even offered to help with the financing of the Roof, including an cost estimate for the main house. After a several weeks, my wife contacted to begin the work. Gilbert gave my wife a date and time as to when he would be available to begin the work and promised that he and his staff would have the work completed in a day, including, cleanup and haul away.Just as he promised, Gilbert delivered, to included pictures and videos of the before and after to show all the work from beginning to the end of the project.We would highly recommend for any roofing project. Five star price, Five star service and Five star customer service. You can rarely find all of them together in a company. The upgraded my central heater and added cooler to the system in less than two days. I have been in construction for years and I definitely can say they are one of the best.Thank you Gilbert for everything. I’ll definitely come back to you for the next project.

Gilbert Abramyan made the process from start to finish easy and without any delay, and the installers were very professional. My family and I have been very satisfied with the installation of air conditioning. The cost of the project $$$$$ (Furnace and 4 Ton 16 seer HVAC including Ductwork) was very competitive with other companies and within our budget.I am giving him 5 stars

Gilbert and his team did an amazing job on our roof. They were great with all communication during the process. I surely would recommend California Energy Star for those who would need any roofing to be done.

If I could give them a zero rating I would. Over Over priced. We were led to believe that we were getting a really good deal. We should have done our homework. We paid $45,000 to get our roofs done. Sure they hyped us up telling us they would start the project the following week. They did, we even fed the crew, twice. When supposedly the work was done, they broke our skylight, it took them over a year to finally replace it after several several phone calls. They left a mess, nails everywhere, we had to pick the trash and nails all over the property. My husband spoke to the supervisor of the roofers, and he never called us again. He didnt like the fact that we had called him on the work they had done. Some of the tiles on the roof dont match, I called them out on it several times telling me its a shadow, but you can clearly see it is not. My husband told them not to drive their truck on our lawn because we have a septic tank where they parked there heavy truck. The roofed leaked in some places with the first rain, approximately 8 months after the new roof had been installed. Again it took several months for them to come out and check it out. But most of all taking advantage of us elderly and painting a pretty picture and making it seem that it was a good deal. Lesson learned, we later got several estimates from a reputable company and they were shocked at what we paid, they informed me that it would cost between 25-30 thousand to get our roofs done. Shame on this company for taking advantage of people.

Found them on Facebook. Called them to schedule an appointment. Gilbert, the owner, called us the same day to schedule the appointment. Rep came and measured the windows. He was very informative, professional and friendly. The quote was reasonable. We needed a little more time and they honored the quote when we were ready. Installation was fast and professional. We highly recommend Calf Energy Star.

Gilbert and his crew are absolutely the best. CES installed my AC unit a few years ago and I appreciated their promptness, professionalism and cleanliness. A few days ago, on the cusp of a heat wave, Gilbert sent someone within hours to help me woth the issue. Not only that, Gilbert has helped me troubleshoot a few issues (like reminding me to change my filter) over the phone and is always so courteous no matter how common sense the solutions have been. For the record, the unit is works flawlessly, my issues have been because I wasnt aware of simple maintenance I should keep up on my end.

Gilbert treats me like family. He did a great job and I would recommend him to all my friends and family. He gave me a great price, completed everything quickly and professionally. Work was very disappointing my drains don’t work properly as the water stays on new concrete instead of running off. And they never returned my phone calls, would not recommend them

We used Gilbert to redo our roof in Redlands, and he and his team were absolutely fantastic. He gave an extremely competitive bid, and was a fantastic communicator. The job was extremely high quality, on time, and on budget. I would highly recommend!

Gilbert did amazing job. My combination tile/flat roof leaked badly during the last rain and flooded my garage, kitchen and bathroom. He was able to react immediately, travel to my property, figure out the problem, explain in great detail the scope of work needed to fix the leak. He gave me a set of options to choose from. He and his team were able to complete the work in record short time before the next heavy rain - just 2 days. The price was very reasonable. On top of it the communication with Gilbert was very easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend this company for their exelent job and dedication.

I Love my new roof. The experience with Gilbert and his team was excellent. Gilbert came and explained the process and answered any questions I had. It took a while for my permit process but Gilbert kept communicating with me the process and when they came to do my roof they did it in a timely manner and it was done correct. Comfortable and confident is what i felt the entire time.

They were great to work with,They installed central air in a home that had only had an evaporative cooler, they used high quality components and a great install, they were recommended by a neighbor that had the same job . Wow what an upgrade! Also they pulled all permits, I strongly recommend them .Gilbert , Alfred and all there workers are great.Did I mention they did the job for 1/2 of Lowes quote. Also I like them so much I had them remove my old roof and install a beautiful new owens corning roofing system it is beyond what you would expect.And I plan on more projects with them in the near future.look no further than California Energy Star. He did an excellent job on my solar installation and as promised delivered an easy experience dealing with the entire project form start to finish. Gilbert and his crew did an excellent job on my roof replacement. Teardown is an extremely messy process, but the guys did an excellent job of cleaning up and went so far as using a long magnetic tool to insure nails were not left that I or my dog would step on. The rest of the roofing project was also done well and in a timely manner. Another company I do business with sent a representative over for my pest control service and that gentleman told me that he had not seen another roof installed as well as mine. He had previously worked in the roofing industry with family members so his comments meant a lot to me. Gilberts crew also updated my electrical panel. I would highly recommend California Energy Star to anyone looking for a new roof or other home projects. Gilbert is not a high pressure salesman and wont try to upsell you. He sincerely cares about his customers.
