When the electrician weve used for over ten years was unable to help us, he referred us to Monkey Wrench and Im glad he did. They sent Daniel, who checked our attic wiring for damage, removed a blown out ceiling fixture and installed a new one. He was thoroughly professional, put our minds at ease about the situation and charged a reasonable price for the service. I highly recommend him and Monkey Wrench.

We got a quote from Monkey wrench for a warranty service for our Rinnai tankless. Rinnai awarded the parts and labor to replace the heat exchanger.The service technician gave us a quote for 1350 plus the 300 dollars Rinnai awards for labor.Keep in mind we did not hire Monkey Wrench to do the work. They showed up for a diagnosis and to quote a price.I was able to hire my plumber I usually use because I was under the impression you had to use someone on Rinnai list of service technicians. If you’ve ever tried to get a hold of Rinnai you would know what I am talking about. Very little information and long hold times on the phone.Now first my plumber tried to get the part but Monkey Wrench had the part shipped to them. Why I don’t know. They were never hired. So after sitting on hold for hours with Rinnai I was able to track where the part went. They insisted that I come pick it up over 50 miles away in Los Angeles. If you’re not familiar with traffic that is a 4-5 hour round trip. I was able to convince them that they should drop it off or ship it since they shouldn’t have had it sent to them.Now I am at day 4 with no hot water.Now is where the rip off comes into play.I had to get a hold of a Rinnai tech on the phone for my plumber and was informed by the tech that the award for labor is 450 dollars not 300.So a long story short Monkey Wrench tried to grease me for 1350 and the extra 150 dollars they subtracted from the labor award.A total of a total of 1800 hundred dollars to do the work. What are they, lawyers.I used to be a general contractor, framer, tile installer, and do concrete, brick and block. I know my way around tools. I could have bumbled my way through the install in about 2 hours myself. But one I don’t have time and two Rinnai requires a licensed plumber to do the work.This job takes 1 guy around 1-2 hours to complete. So Monkey Wrench is under the impression they should make 900-1800 dollars an hour.By the way. My plumber did the job for the 450 that Rinnai awarded for the job. His thinking was if Rinnai thinks it’s worth 450 dollars then that’s what the job should take. He finished in just over an hour and I did tip him an extra 50 bucks.Monkey wrench believes everything takes at least 2 people to do a job. A tankless water heater can have only one person in front of it. You don’t need a coffee runner or someone to hand tools to the person doing the work. You’re not surgeons.I shouldn’t have to pay for crews training and be raked over the coals for a repair. At there price to fix a heat exchanger you might as well have a new unit installed. Which they did try to push with their extended warranty crap.If you agree they try to charge to much Stearns clear of this rip off. If not hire them.

We had a very complicated and outdated water heater system for hydronic floors and our hot water supply that wasn’t working. Rick A came in on a Monday, created a quote for a replacement that was less than anyone else’s quote, and the new system with two on demand heaters was installed by Friday. He personally came to adjust the settings and be sure that everything was done properly. Great service!!

Rick came out quickly on initial call and quickly diagnosed the water heater needed to be replaced. He made recommendations and showed pictures of previous installs and detailed what the new install for me would be like. We went through options, pricing, warranties, and all aspects of the job. Since he didn’t work on the weekend, I was willing to wait until Monday for him to install given his professionalism and details provided rather than having another technician the next day. Alex came with him on install day and both were terrific and did a thorough and terrific job. Install went without a hitch and new tankless is now up and running. I was due for my annual maintenance on my 2 Noritz tankless water heaters and decided to give Monkey Wrench Plumbing a try since they were certified with Noritz and had positive reviews. I received a text the day of the service appointment confirming the time and who the technician would be. Max, the technician was right on time. He introduced himself and explained in detail the service he would be performing. Max overwhelmingly exceeded my expectations. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. You could tell he took pride in his work and did not rush to go on to the next job which has been my experience in the past with other plumbing companies. Once Max had completed servicing both units, he took the time to write up and email the details of the work completed in addition to some recommendations to keep the units running at their best. Rick was excellent! Explained everything before the job from start to finish so there were no surprises. Prep the place beforehand and didn’t leave any mess when they were done. I had a tankless water installed and it was finished within the quoted time. All in all, a great experience, great work and communication.

Took advantage of their internet coupon discount for my main drainage pipe as a preventative measure I do every year or two years. This offer included drainage cleaning and camera inspection. Technician Eddie was on time and knowledgeable. His first step was to inspect my pipe with his camera and immediately saw a lot of tiny tree roots also he found a 3 to 4 inch hole at the top of clay drainage pipe. Eddie explained to me what I was looking at on the camera screen and the problem with the hole in the pipe. Because of the hole in pipe he didn’t want to take a chance in cleaning out the the small roots inside because the the rotor cable could get stuck in that hole, and he would never be able to get his rotor cable out or it would make the hole bigger. Eddie’s recommendation was to dig down to the hole in the pipe and cut it out and add a new section of pipe. Eddie gave me a quote for the repair work.

Monkey Wrench Plumbing was recommended to me by the Whole house water filtration company were working with. From the beginning, Monkey Wrench’s staff on the phone, to the person calling to alert me the plumber was on his way, to Josh (plumber/technician) who arrived at my home — everyone was incredibly polite, knowledge and professional. Josh was kind enough to wait 30 minutes until I got home, use the time he was here to familiarize himself with our current plumbing, and went over a number of concerns, and gave me different pricing options to balance our health, sanitation, and budgetary concerns.Josh went so far as to give me 3 different quotes, so that my husband and I could go over 3 different options that suited our family’s needs and priorities. Although I’m getting quotes from 2 other companies, and Monkey Wrench is slightly more expensive, I definitely want to go with them because I think my family is getting the best value & service.

We moved into our new home 3 years ago and we noticed the pressure in our water was decreasing over time. My husband and I also noticed increased sediment buildup in our spare bathroom. We reached out to Monkey Wrench and they sent over Josh. I wasnt home when Josh came the next day (which is really fast turnaround) to assess our water heater and pipes. He made his recommendations and kindly allowed us to think over it. When we finally got approval from our HOA to perform the installation, my husband was confident to request Josh. When I finally met Josh, he was easy to talk to, professional and thorough with explaining what work was being done. Josh and his team remained focus throughout the work. They updated us on the progress. After finishing, they cleaned up the worksite and all that was left was a beautiful, elaborate, pipe system that provided exceptional quality to our new water softening system. Josh had a lot of patience answering all my questions from maintenance to emergency scenario situations. He was thorough to explain what to expect since this was our first time owning this kind of water system. Josh came out to our house to take a look at the water pressure issues we were having with our hot water. Josh found out that the issue was ultimately sediment that was coming through our main line that was not being filtered.They gave us various recommendations and upon getting approval from our HOA, Josh and his crew came out to install a new filter into our main line and since he was already there, he updated our tankless water heater and installed the water softening system while we were at it.They were so professional and did a fantastic job and would knock on our door to let us know every step of the way the progress they were making throughout the day. They were here from 9:30 to about 5. I highly recommend Monkey Wrench to anyone, absolutely amazing service.

The service setting up the appointment and the appointment itself was very nice and professional, however, I received an estimate of about $4,500 to fix the problem. I decided to get a second opinion from another plumber the other day, and that plumber fixed everything for $350. I advise everyone to get several estimates from different companies before committing to one.

These guys are great! They came and identified the problem with my tankless hot water heater which had to do with an installation of our EQ valve. They called the gas company who came out and fixed it. Josh was here for hours and didnt charge us a cent. He also told us how to keep iour tank in good working order for years to come.
