Monkey Wrench Plumbing is absolutely amazing. This is the New Year’s weekend and they were not only in their office, but came out the same day. My entire AC unit had to be replaced. And this will be done tomorrow morning again to my amazement.Chevalier, Tony, Clark.

I cant say enough how great Josh is. He installed a tankless water heater and whole house water filtration system . The work was impeccable and he answered all my questions. We were quoting for a full house filter because we have very hard water where we live. Our water also has a lot of chlorimine, calcium and magnesium and it wreaks havoc on our skin. Kai came out and explained our different options and corrected our understanding on how water softening systems work. He installed same day and got us an idea on our future plumbing work for the house. I can recommend Monkey Wrench from sending out an expert like Kai alone.EDIT: Weve had the system for a couple of months and after getting it tested by a known and trusted lab, I have to take two stars off of my review.While the system was cheaper than its competitors and requires almost no maintenance, in the Socal IE area, the filter is not strong enough to fully remove smaller particles like fluoride, nor does it remove all cancer causing chemicals like arsenic. Additionally our water contained a notable amount of sodium AND chloride (so yes, salt) when we were told it would remove all of these chemicals relatively thoroughly.Simple Lab gave our water a score of 64/99, with 99 being the purest the water could be after treatment. I understand its not a reverse osmosis system, but I still expected much better for the cost.

Rick and David were most professional. They arrived on time and quickly go to work. They left the install area cleaner than when they got here. We’ve been under construction for a while now and they didn’t mention the mess of leaves and dirt I had around. They swept and cleaned the area so the install would be flawless. Both technicians communicated with me throughout the entire process. I knew when all the water was shut off. They worked diligently to get the cold water back on as soon as possible. Then they let me know when the hot was ready to go. At the end, Rick even called in to get me the online discount that I wasn’t aware of. Very happy with the entire process. Great customer service as well.

Very nice customer service but unfortunately I couldn’t end up using their services because they were trying to rip me off. I had a Moen flo device that I wanted installed and for a basic instillation they wanted to charge me $2,500. In no way shape or form should this service cost more than $500 - especially when I provided the equipment, and they wanted FIVE TIMES that amount. A pity that I can’t recommend them to anybody bc I had a very nice time with their customer service personnel.

Jonathan showed up promptly, was able to diagnose the issue within 30 minutes of arrival and thoroughly explained the source of our water heater problems. I quickly received an estimate for repairs/replacements thereafter. Overall, I’m impressed with Monkey Wrench’s service quality, timeliness and system for communicating with customers (email/text). I’ll definitely use their services in the future.

I had a leaking by-pass valve in my Nortiz DV -1111. I diagnosed it and ordered the parts in advance. Monkeywrench sent an expert technician out within 48 hours of my contacting them for the repair (had to wait for the part to arrive). Enrique, the certified tech. was incredibly professional and verified my diagnosis before proceeding with the work. He was expeditious and detail-oriented. He showed me the leaking valve and installed the parts Id provided. He made sure the unit was in working order with the new parts and that the leak was resolved before completing the service call.I would highly recommend Monkeywrench Plumbing and their technician, Enrique, based on this experience. I have them on speed-dial for future repairs.

Monkey Wrench Plumbing has been wonderful to work with! We moved into our house nearly three years ago, and a new tankless water heater had been installed by another plumber. We started having problems soon after. We found out that Monkey Wrench serviced tankless (our locally recommended plumber didnt), and that was the beginning of our affiliation with them. They found many installation errors, and fixed them all. Now, we are on a yearly maintenance contract with them, and their service technicians are all very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. So glad we found Monkey Wrench!!

Enrique was here on time, explained what needed to be done, and expertly finished the job. We have two tankless water heaters, one much older than the other. Enrique explained that with older water heaters the customary flushing often makes things worse, and he explained why. So, we passed on the flushing of that heater - saving us money.

Hired them to come fix a leaking pot filler. He told me they would have to take the whole wall down and replace the entire system. He said he couldn’t access the part he needed. I went over and removed the cap to show him. He apologized and said he could fix it now. If I hadn’t tried to remove the cap, he would have charged me thousands to repair a simple leaking o ring. After he was done it still leaks! And i paid him for nothing! Be careful and double check their jobs. I don’t know if he was blatantly trying to scam, or just bad at his job.

Monkey Wrench plumbing is a bait-n-switch scheme. They appear to clean drains, say they did the work but it did not fix the problem then quote a ridiculous sum for work you do not need. The ultimate price based upon your current level of urgency. Do not use Monkey Wrench unless you enjoy being scammed!

I checked the water heater.did he forget to close the item next to water heater, or was it left for a reason?

Highly recommend Monkey Wrench. Luis provided professional help. Even when he found out that there was no blockage, he diagnosed what the problem should be. Being that its a new(er) toilet, he suggested contacting the manufacturer to replace the part needed.

The electric water heater has now shut off at least twice due to an error. The tech logged that there was an error, restarted the unit, and said someone probably needs to come look at the flow meter, but then said since we have regularly scheduled maintenance in April, they’d just look at it then. That is unacceptable - I have a 15 year warranty, I shouldn’t have to wait two months for my not pre-paid annual maintenance for something which is obviously a problem with the unit to be corrected. They just don’t want to make the repairs without getting extra money. This has been my interaction with the company from the beginning - somehow everything is more and more expensive each year even thou I paid a premium in warranties from the start. I’d never recommend them to anyway, would tell everyone to use anyone but.

I don’t even know where to start..Rick Aguirre was the most experienced individual I ever met. As soon as he saw my water heater tank he knew exactly what the problem was. He was so intelligent not just only fixing it but he was explaining to me one by one why and how the problem started with my water heater tank and what needs to be done. I learned so much from this experience. Mr. Aguirre took the necessary measures to fix the issues. His customer skills was priceless. He was a very happy person, smiley face and so calm. Another issue was that I haven’t had a heater in 3 years because no one could fix my heater since it was connected to my water heater tank. I was going to pay 7k to get the whole system replaced and bum Rick fixed it in less than 5 min and I can’t even explain the happiness that I have. I called Monkey Wrench Plumbing and asked them to come by because I smelled gas in my laundry room at my home. The tech showed up the next day and said he smelled something but it wasnt gas. I now have had multiple contacts with SC Gas and a $2700 bill from a reputable plumber repairing a major gas leak at my home. I would not put my faith in Monkey Wrench Plumbing for your safety. The reason I gave them one star is that Mike was a nice guy.

Repaired, cleaned water tank. Cleaned filtration system. Replaced rusty pipe. Did a very good good. He was kind, neat and explained the work he did.

Let me first state that as a small business owner i am always reluctant to write a poor review. But sometimes they do it to themselves .9 months ago i called Monkey Wrench because my Norritz whole house tankless heater stopped workingThey were very prompt and communicated everything - including the cost -beautifulyThe company stated my repair would cost $2000 and they would rebuild the machine. ( a new machine is 1200 dollars )I questioned that price but i decided to go with it because they stated it would have all new parts and the addition of a drainage filter. they also stated their work would be under warranty for 1 year ( same as a new machine )Work was completed and heater worked well until 3 days ago when it started leaking and stopped producing hot water.i called Monkey Wrench - they came promptly .They stated that the previous work was not under warrenty and so the repair cost would be $2500They also stated that the manufacturers warranty was void bevause they tested my water and it has 18 hardness and warrenty is voided if above 15. Now let me clarify by stating that 9 months ago they never told me that piece of information - they never stated that they even measured my water .In fact - they specifically told me 1 year parts and warrentyPlus - as a competant plumber, why would you install a system with a water hardness that they states voids a warranty ( this would have happend with a new heater instal as well ) ? That seems like an unethical thing to do.They quoted me 3 prices for 3 different options - pleass note that all other plumbing in my house is complete-( excellent pipes / valves recirculator etc ) only the heater needs to be replaced - about a 60 minute jobprice 1. $12,000- for the same unit ( which costs $1200 at home depot )Price 2. 6145 for different modelprice 3. 5335 for a third modelprice 4. $2540 for repair of current system without warrantyI decided against all options and will chooss another plumber.And i will be filing a report with the California Contractors licensing BoardetcThese people are very polite but beware - they bait and switch and very unethical .They are allowed to be as expensive as they wany and the customer csn choose to pay the price or not- but this is differebt - and they know it

Monkey Wrench is very responsive. Our tankless heater conked out and they came within two hours of my call. Heater was replaced and all is good with the world!

The technician Andres Olguin was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable. He could find the issue with the tankless heater and fix it right away. Definitely I will request for him next service. He is exceptionally great. So happy with customer service as well.

I attempted to hire these folks to do a tub spout replacement. Would not give a basic cost range, but said they’d give a no commitment estimate when they arrived for our scheduled appointment. On the day of the appointment they called to say they’d “gotten a big job yesterday” and couldn’t make it. I worked with them to reschedule for a week later, and once again, on the day, got a call that they “had gotten a big job yesterday” again, and couldn’t make it.So yeah, never again. Stay away if you’re looking for a plumber that will actually show up.
