When I decided to build a detached ADU at my rental property in Pomona, I started researching and reviewing several contractors for the job. I ultimately decided to go with Potato Construction Inc., not only because of their competitive pricing but also because Sales Manager Patrick demonstrated his deep knowledge, provided a very comprehensive package detailing all the fees, and showed me comparable comps.The development of the ADU started in August, with Victor Liu stepped in as the project coordinator. He was knowledgeable and professional, and he was on top of everything. Throughout the entire project, he always responded promptly to any of my calls or texts, which was wonderful during the process to have someone so responsive. The best part is that Victor managed to pass the city inspection on the first try, significantly reducing the overall timeframe of the project.Im attaching photos of our place; its so spacious and nice. Its amazing what Potato Inc. were able to do with the space. With the upcoming solar installation, I look forward to the property being finally completed within the next few weeks.Potato Construction Inc. worked quickly and performed quality work. We engaged Potato Construction to build a garage for our historic home, which previously lacked one. Victor and his team constructed a beautiful garage from the ground up, displaying professionalism and courtesy throughout the project. Everyone on the team was a pleasure to work with. UPDATE 9/23/24-Since writing the original review, the owner (Bill) finally reached out to us and did his best to remedy all the issues and repairs that was needed to finish our 797sf ADU project. As promised, I told him I would update my review to reflect his efforts in making things right. Although it wasnt the easiest, they did fix all the problems and we finally received our certificate of occupancy from the city.PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHES AND DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Their 5 star ratings are their own employees, not legit. We were duped by seeing their signs pop up all over SGV. We regrettably also allowed them to place a sign outside our home. We feel terrible for misleading other neighbors into thinking that this is a reputable company. I wish we ripped out their sign months ago.We started our 797sf ADU project mid August 2023. Even with a total of 6 weeks pause per our request due to vacations, they are still way past the promised 150 working days (Mon-Sat) to complete the project. They hire the cheapest subs and they do the bare minimum bc they dont pay well (according to the workers). They leave trash and food all over, even when there are trash cans for them. Our project manager (Willie) is maybe half deaf. Never listens and just yaps away. He reaches out only when we demand answers as to why no one showed up to work all week. No one communicates effectively or takes notes. We constantly have to repeat ourselves on what needs to be done and in turn, give THEM a checklist. What did we hire you for??Its already mid June 2024. The newest issue that came about today was their electrician installed the wrong wiring IN ADDITION to the wrong 3 prong outlet (discovered this about 3wks ago and nothings been fixed) behind our electric stove. Now they will need to rip out the wall and cabinets to repair. My husband is fed up and ripped out their signage today. This is ridiculous. We are considering filing a lawsuit bc they are just dragging this out. The owner Bill refuses to answer any of our calls. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.We recently saw another new sign next block over. We actually knocked on the neighbors door to warn her. Shes already having issues and shes in the framing stage right now. If you want a laundry list of issues weve had the past 10mo, message me.

I built my ADU only for investment. Two bedrooms two bathrooms will have a very good rental price. Choose Potato only because they are fastest.

I looked over the proposal from this company for a family member who is an elderly looking to build an adu on his property. Look carefully at the details because many items do NOT include materials and listed as “labor only”! I was only able to spot this because I’m currently in the process of building an adu for myself and the multiple quotes I received from other contractors included the materials at a similar price

Unprofessional people they will leave the area unclean and act like they own the place. The workers there should not have a job. ( if someone replies go talk to your worker about being professional ) you guys should have people who are respectful and just do there job and not STEAL

Potato do very good for my ADU

I am very satisfied with the final result of my ADU built by Potato Construction. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into every aspect of the project has left me genuinely elated. I am impressed with their responsiveness and professionalism. Bill who was my project manager was really knowledgeable and helpful in the process. From our initial consultation to project completion, his professionalism shone through in every interaction, ensuring a smooth and transparent process. The foundation digging started on March 26, and the interior painting and exterior wall Stucco were carried out in mid-May. It was incredibly fast, and the City quality inspection passed the test in one go! You can start collecting rent soon😄! Wall Crack Recommendation: Potato Architecture!
